postal scam?

this is not exactly a question but a warning about a postal scam
which i received an email about.
Postal Scam
Can you circulate this around
especially as Xmas is fast approaching – it has been confirmed by Royal
Mail. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the
following scam:
A card is posted through your door
from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were
unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a
premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam
originating from Belize.
If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will
already have been billed £15 for the phone call.
If you do receive a card with these
details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the
premium rate service regulator) atwww.icstis.org.uk

I had my US passport amended after I got married…?

The first page still has all my original info and maiden name. The last page states “passport has been amended to read bearers name as (my married name.) My question…has anyone with an “amended” passport had any confusion or trouble entering a foreign country? I’d sure like to go back to Belize for vacation!

Conditional Probability Homework Question?

The probability of a hurricane hitting Belize is 20%, Mexico is 50%, and USA is 30%. (It can’t hit more than 1) If it hits belize or Mexico, there is a 70% chance it will be weak. If it hits the USA , there will be a 50% chance it will be weak. The chance it will be weak is 64% and strong is 36%. What is the probability that it is either Strong or affects Belize?

I did this by p(strong)+p(belize) – p(strong and belize) and got 0.488. (0.36)+(0.2) – 0.072. However, when I calculated p(strong and Belize), was I supposed to use p(belieze) X p (strong overall which is 0.36) or p(belieze) x p(strong IN belize which is 0.3) ?
If you know how to do any of this – I have one last one…”You hear the hurrican was strong, but you don’t know what country was affected. What is the probability Belize was affected?” I did P(Belize|Strong) = P (Belize AND Strong) / P(Belize) = 0.072/0.2 = 0.36. However, I don’t know if 0.072 is right based on the previous problem and why would the probability go UP? Only a small number of hurricanes in belize are strong…

Thank you!
