Why is Belize the only country not named on the maps on TV? Are we, (the united states) punishing them? why?

Belize is the only Country south of our borders that the official language is English. They are only 25 years old and are an emerging Country. You would think more support would be offered. I moved there over two years ago and see it as a Country dedicated to literacy and growth in protecting one of the few last remaining natural paridises left. I know that Belize has not signed the Trade agreement with the US because it would obligated them to sell cheap to the US like all the other central American Countries? Personally, I aplaude that. Just makes good business sense. Or is it because it’s a place some Trafficers use to bring contraban into mexico or the US? Why punish the people / the Rightful inheriters of Belize for any reasons of that sort? Some facts would be nice.

Anyone ever been to Belize in Central America? I didn’t realize it is only 25 years old, it used to be?

called “British Honduras”. English is their primary language. I was just there on a recent cruise. I kind of liked it (we went to the Zoo/Animal Sanctuary), but am still suffering from mosquito and fire ant bites all over my legs!! Guess that is what I get for going on “rainly season” in the jungle in shorts!. Everyone seemed real nice. Anyone have any opinions of the country?

Belize is a great Caribbean retirement haven?

It’s beautiful, inexpensive (homes $50,000, no taxes), English is spoken, it’s pristine (no pollution) and filled with fun adventures including a magnificent barrier reef and mysterious Mayan ruins.

How to get started- Jehovah’s Witnesses International Preaching Work?

I am a young married sister looking to expand my ministry. It has always been a goal of mine to help out establishing Kingdom Halls in foreign lands needing assistance in the English. I heard of some Witnesses that went to places like Cabo San Lucas, Playa del Carmen, Belize, and other places in Mexico and Central America. If you have any information on this is would be helpful. Or if you, or someone you know is in another country helping out please let me know. My husband and I would like to do this and we really dont know where to get started. It would be nice to meet up with another brother or sister that is or has done this. How do I get started? Which areas need assistance in English? Any info is helpful. Thankyou.
I know that I can get advice from the Elders. I was simply trying to see if there was anyone out there that is doing this or knows someone that is.
You shouldn’t just make assumptions about people. I have been in the truth my whole life and I have been baptised for almost 7 years. My husband for 11. I have prayerfully thought about this for a few years now and it is something I do want to do. I know there can be risks and dangers going to another country. You can never let your gaurd down…but the same is for us here in the states too. You should be positive and upbuilding when one of your brothers and sisters wants to serve Jehovah more fully and not be negative or a cause for a stumbling block. I honestly think it is rude to tell someone “the must be new in the truth because they want to do it all”. And some of us have limitations that may not qualify them to attend Gilead. If I could, I would try to do that but I know I cannot. So I would like to spend a month or two helping out another congregation.
