so i wanted to keep with the theme of places around the world
so i choose Belize because it begins with B like my name and i always wanted to go to Belize
and suppose to be a girl

I think it is unique. I could get used to hearing it. I have a friend who has a daughter named Madison and she wanted to name her next daughter Brooklyn but her husband wasnt into themed children, lol. I personally like the theme. My first 3 children all go together, Faith, Hope, Grace:)

its okay. I went to belize over the summer though and while the wildlife was pretty, as a whole Belize City was very dirty. I don’t think I ever want to go back there.

I think it’s odd, to be honest.
Not necessarily in and of itself, mind you, but definitely not something I would suggest with a big sister named Italy!
First of all, it tends to bring BOTH names down to be poorly-thought-out, lower-class and completely random place names. Akin to sibs named Alabama, Ireland and Asia, for instance, since they’re obviously unrelated except for the fact that they happen to be places the parents generally have no connection to whatsoever. So unless the family actually DOES have strong ties to both Central America and Southern Europe, just oddly random and meaningless, to say the least.
Furthermore, many will try to come up with some sort of connection, given that very randomness, and likely assume these unfortunate examples of the “too-much-information” sort of names often joked about. In other words, perhaps the first was conceived on their honeymoon in Italy, and the second on a family holiday in Belize! Just … well, ick. LOL Not exactly what I’d want my children’s names to immediately bring to mind, true or not.
So while ONE place name might be perfectly fine — especially if they DO happen to have Italian heritage (which is often the case with parents using Italy … or more accurately, Italia) — I would never suggest using another for the second. And especially not a completely unrelated one, which makes it obvious there likely ISN’T any significance behind them.
If you really want something that would keep with the “theme” of Italy, I would instead suggest looking through some actual Italian NAMES. Instead of dragging the first name down with the second, this would seem to make Italy even MORE meaningful, since it would seem they really were seeking to reflect Italian roots or simply a fondness of Italy and its people, culture, history, etc.
If it’s a B name you’d prefer, for instance, you might consider Bianca, Brigida or the actual word Bella (quite popular at the moment). For other options, here’s an entire list of feminine Italian names: http://www.behindthename.com/nmc/ita_f.php

well i was going to say that’s a country, but i guess you already know that.
italy is certainly unconventional, i’ve never heard of it being a girl’s name. you don’t necessarily have to have them have a theme. or the theme could be i names and you could call her irene or isabelle…
if you want to keep with the theme, belize is pretty. i’d never name my daughter that but i’d also never name my daughter italy.
but make sure your sister likes it because it’s her daughter.
that’s so cool that she’s letting you name her. she must really trust you.

Belize isn’t the worst place name I’ve ever heard, and it does shorten to the familiar Belle or Bella as a nickname.
But I’m still not sure it’s a great choice. Unlike Italy, Belize is a place name that can easily be butchered. And while Italy is quite familiar, Belize is a bit obscure.
I might also consider:
Caledonia (an old name for Scotland)
Lourdes
Langley
Ravenna
Kenya
Sedona
Sicily
But my favorite would be Valencia.

my son’s name is Kelton, but for some reason I call him Belize, lol– so, it has nothing to do with his name, and I don’t even know where it came from, but it stuck.
